About us

Hej!

We are Ken and Sonya (and Max!), your tour guides, and we are very excited to share our corner of the world with you and help you create new experiences and unforgettable memories.

Most people we meet want to know how we found ourselves living in Vidsel since we are an American/British couple, it seems like an unlikely place to land.

We first met in Bucerias, Mexico where we were working as PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors. We both loved travelling and spent our next couple years together living in New Zealand and Australia. From there we moved up to London where we spent the next 5 years. During our time in London we took many holidays to Sweden, each time we left we could only think how badly we wanted to stay. When we took our last trip to Lapland in 2016 we decided that we would do just that and we found our new home in Vidsel.

Vidsel is quite literally the complete opposite of London. We moved away from our fast paced, high stress jobs and lives and fell in love with the complete tranquillity that the wilderness of Northern Sweden has to offer and we have never looked back.

Whether you are coming for a relaxing holiday to escape the stress of the real world or are ready for some adrenaline pumping adventure, we hope we can help you discover what you are looking for in Swedish Lapland and we are sure that it will capture a piece of your heart.

We speak English and are currently studying Swedish at SFI.

"It's almost overwhelming sometimes trying to figure out where to go for your next hike because the possibilities seem endless. Every direction you look there are hundreds of miles of pure, untouched land filled with rivers, lakes, mountains and forests teeming with wildlife. And there is no wrong choice when you do decide where to go because the immense beauty of the wilderness in Swedish Lapland never ceases to amaze. You can go out just 5km from your front door and feel like you are the only person on Earth!"

"There is no wrong time to visit. I always enjoy the current season as much as I look forward to what the next has to offer. There are endless possibilities for activities to enjoy and places to explore. I have spent a lot of time putting together a list of my favourite locations, each with it's own special characteristics and I can't wait to share them with you on one of our nature tours!"

"I’ve always loved the outdoors and there is just no end to what you can enjoy here in Swedish Lapland with every season offering something unique to look forward to.  I can only describe the skies & scenery here as spectacular & there really is something for everyone.  Many people (like us) keep coming back to this area year after year to enjoy what ever combination of tranquillity and adventure they are looking for.  The only thing I like more than living in Vidsel is having the opportunity to share it with other people so I’m looking forward to your visit."
