kayak through the calm rivers and slow streaming waters

What better way to enjoy nature than to cruise along on one of Swedish Lapland's many lakes and rivers. Resting right near the Pite Älv, we are perfectly situated for a great trip out on the river or lake. The lake kayaks take us around the lakes of Storsund where we slowly paddle around, taking in the nature and stopping for some Swedish "fika" along the way. The river kayaks are a truly amazing experience. Follow the slow current as you wind around the bends, never knowing what awaits you on the other side! We paddle over a few small rapids that are easily manageable and there are some great places to stop for coffee and lunch. Gliding along the waters of Lapland is an unforgettable experience!

Experience the power of the mighty Storforsen, explore the two faces of Trollforsen, or feel the magic of Muddus National Park. Each of these day trips offer a unique experience and allow you to get up close and feel the power of nature.  All tours include some hiking and fika by the fire. On day trips, time is set aside to explore on your own, relax by the fire, or go for a swim.

Storforsen - Just 5km from Vidsel, this is a must do for all visitors!

Explore the famous Storforsen, Europe's largest unregulated rapids. The nature reserve offers much to experience in Winter and Summer. There is a lot of history to discover from the log floating days. Swimming is possible in the small natural pools in the Summer.

Trollforsen - About 1 hour drive from Vidsel, this is one of the most beautiful places along the Pite River. The river splits into two sections of rapids, the deep ravine in the South and the wide flowing rapids in the North. Fishing can be included here depending on time of year for additional charge. Swimming is possible at the bottom of the rapids.

Muddus - Follow the ancient trails used by the Sami people through old growth forest to the incredible Muddusfallet - the Muddus water fall. Muddus National Park lies about 1 hour 45 minutes from Vidsel and it is worth the drive! There are two amazing waterfalls that we stop to view during this trip. We drive through the town of Jokkmokk and frequently see reindeer on the way.
